International Translation Day in EAGI

On September 30-th the Department of Foreign Languages organized an online conference in honor of the holiday “International Translation Day”.

An introductory speech was made by the Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Docent, the Head of the Department of foreign languages, Volkova Lyudmila Vasilievna, who congratulated the teachers and students.

After that, the teacher of the department, Master of Arts, Kamzina A.B. spoke of the importance of language professionals and briefly accounted about the history of the Translation Day

A professional translator/interpreter A. Yu.Yastrebov, an invited guest, gave useful recommendations to future translators.

During the conference, Saduova Sabira, a student of the group ИЯК-18-04, recited Shakespeare’s poem.

At the end of the event Master of Arts, a teacher of the department Umutkulova A.N. announced the results of the competition dedicated to “The International Translation Day”:

In the nomination for the best wall newspaper, ИЯК-17-02 and ШТ-20-01 groups received certificates.

In the nomination “The Best Translation of a literary text” the following students  received certificates:

1st place – Karim Islam for the translation from French into Kazakh.
2nd place –Zhaksylykova Diana for the translation from French into Russian.
3rd place-Bulatkulova Sania for the translation from French into Russian.

1st place –Ibragimova Madina for the  translation from Chinese into Kazakh.
2nd place –Negmetzhanova Altynay for the translation from Chinese into Kazakh.
3rd place-Imambekova Adil  for the translation from Chinese into Russian.

1st place-Bazhina Asemzhanfor the translation from English into Kazakh.
2nd place – Abikhanova Pakizat for the translation from English into Kazakh.
3rd place-Grishukevich Natalia for the  translation from English into Russian.
