EAGI expands the horizons of cooperation with Turkey

On 17.07.2024 in the A.K. Kussayinov Eurasian Humanities Institute (hereinafter – EAGI) took place the ceremony of signing the Memorandum of Understanding (hereinafter – MoU) with Atatürk University, Turkey.

The delegation was led by the Rector, Prof. Dr. Ömer ÇOMAKLI, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Taşkın ÖZTAŞ, Office of International Affairs Coordinator and Erasmus Office Pınar UÇAK.

EAGI side were presented by Acting Rector, Professor, Doctor of Historical Sciences Akhmetov K.A., Director of the Department of Academic Affairs and Accreditation, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Professor Zagatova S.B., Head of the Department of Science, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Amangazikyzy Mөldir, as well as the coordinator of Erasmus+ projects, c.ped.sc., Associate Professor Meiramova S.A. and coordinator of academic mobility and international relations Master of Philology Sandybaeva A.T.

Professor, Dr. Ömer ÇOMAKLI presented brief information about his university, spoke about the achievements of the university in the field of academic excellence, research results, internationalization of programs and international cooperation.

In turn, Prof. Dr. Akhmetov K.A. told about the latest achievements of the institute, educational programs, mobility of students and teachers, international integration of EAGI into the world educational space.

During the MoU signing ceremony, the Parties mutually agreed that a variety of joint activities on academic, research, educational and cultural issues will be realized within the framework of the Memorandum. They also considered the possibility of establishing a center for social sciences for the development and implementation of joint international projects Erasmus+, Horizon Europe, joint publications of scientific articles and methodological works of professors, young scientists, doctoral students and teachers.

Background: Atatürk University, located in Erzurum, Turkey is named after the father of all Turks, Kemal Ataturk, has a rich history and a high quality of education with a variety of academic programs and resources.

Erzurum is an iconic city for the people of Turkey. It was here when the Declaration of Independence was read out, a document that signaled the establishment of a new state system. In honor of those events, the university, which was founded in 1957, was named after Ataturk and is the second largest university campus in Turkey.

Atatürk University is known for its quality education, two dozen colleges and various research centers, as well as its many academic programs. It also positions itself as an internationally oriented university, offering students the opportunity to participate in academic mobility programs and research projects.
