EAGI expands cooperation with Turkey

On September 29, 2025, the A.K. Kussayinov Eurasian Humanities Institute hosted a meeting with a delegation from Turkey led by Professor Turgay Düğen, PhD in Political Science and International Relations, Head of the Department of Eurasian Studies at the Institute of Social Sciences at Niide Ömer Halisdemir University, as well as the Deputy Director of the Scientific Center for Turkic Studies at Niide Ömer Halisdemir University, Deputy Director (dean) of the Institute of Social Sciences at Niide Ömer Halisdemir University, and research associate at the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Niide Ömer Halisdemir University, on a part-time basis.

The delegation included renowned professors from Niide Ömer Halisdemir University, Dr. Erdinç Demiray, and Dr. Rüştü Kaya from Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University (Turkey).

EAGI was represented by Rector, Professor Nurbanu Tokenovna Nygymanova, Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation Samat Amangeldinovich Eskaliev, and EAGI administrative staff.

Professor Turgay Düğen gave a brief presentation about Niide Omer Halisdemir University and talked about the university’s significant achievements in science, education, and international cooperation.

In turn, Rector Professor Nygymanova Nurbanu Tokenovna spoke about the latest achievements of the institute, educational programs, academic mobility of students and teachers, and the international integration of EAGI into the global educational space.

After the meeting, Professor Turgay Düğen gave a guest lecture on “Scientific Research Methods and Artificial Intelligence”, presented in Kazakh, which was of interest to our students and teachers. The lecture aroused keen interest among the audience, touching on issues of academic ethics and methodology, and emphasizing the development of scientific exchange in the context of scientific research and projects between Kazakhstan and Turkey.

During the lecture, students learned about different approaches to using technology to improve scientific and research skills, and how AI can make this process fun and interactive. Students and teachers had an excellent opportunity to ask the lecturer questions, discuss prospects for cooperation in Eurasian research, and exchange ideas for future projects.

At the end of the meeting, Professor Turgay Düğen shared his achievements in scientific research, noted the importance of international scientific cooperation, and emphasized Kazakhstan’s role in the processes of Eurasian integration.
