Astana active young people helped veterans and pensioners to clean the yards
More than 500 young people gathered to help the veterans and the families with many children.
On Saturday, 25 February the students of the capital higher educational establishments together with the Akimats of the three Astana districts began removing the snow from the yards of the veterans and pensioners.
The site of Astana Akimat registered this action as «Мейiрiмдi қала» informing that more than 500 young people took part in it. The aim of the action initiated by the city Akim Asset Issekeshev is helping pensioners, veterans, invalids, needy and large families.
For the first day the students removed the snow from the yards of lonely elderly people and the people with limited possibilities who lived in the Zheledorozny, Koktal and Ondiris regions.
The pensioners thanked the students and added that they were proud of the contemporary young generation with the firm civilian position.
The Head of the Department on the issues of the youth policy of Astana Askhat Oralov said, “The veterans today need help, care and attention. I am very glad that the action «Мейiрiмдi қала» is becoming a regular good tradition. This year we’ll try to give veterans more attention. I consider that the initiative is a good sample for the youth and the rows of our volunteers are growing in such events”. The students of the Eurasian Humanities Institute and the L.N. Gumilyov National University and the young people of the youth organizations took an active part in the event.
