The Students’ Scientific-research Work

The Students’ Scientific-research Work (SSRW) at the department is an integral part of training specialists, aimed at developing professional and general cultural competencies.

The department’s SSRW is carried out in accordance with the department’s and institute’s research plans in the following areas:

1. Participation in the second round of the annual Republican SSRW competition

• In 2025, students Amangeldy D. and Zhakupova A., students of the “Finance” educational program, were awarded a 3rd degree diploma for their research work on the topic: “Financial and economic justification for the modernization of thermal power plants: investments in an environmentally friendly future.” Scientific supervisors: Candidate of Technical Sciences, Professor G.D. Tazhenova, Docent B.B. Mazhitova.
• In 2022, Abildinova D. and Abdybekova G., students of the educational program “Finance” were awarded a third-degree diploma for their research work on the topic: “Prospects for the development of digital mortgage lending in Kazakhstan using the example of Otbasy Bank in Astana.” Scientific supervisors: Candidate of Technical Sciences, Professor G.D. Tazhenova, Senior Lecturer, Master’s Degree Holder Zh.D. Daulethanova.
• In 2021, first-degree diplomas were awarded to A.R. Seidihan and D.M. Zhalmysheva, students of the Finance program for their research work on the topic “Ways to develop digital technologies in the commercial banking sector of Kazakhstan” (Turan-Astana) Nur-Sultan, supervisor – senior lecturer, Master of Economics Daulethanova Zh.D.)
• In 2020, Akpaev A.E., a 4th-year student, was awarded a third-degree diploma for his research work on the topic “Impact investment processes in the development of the effectiveness of economic measures.” (Kazakh Academy of Labor and Social Relations (KazATiSo), Almaty, supervisor – senior lecturer, Master of Economics Zh.D. Daulethanova).
• In 2018, second-year students Armanseit Akpayev and and Nurmaganbetova Zarina were awarded first-class diplomas for their participation in the project on the topic “Financial and economic assessment of state investment projects,” scientific supervisors – Candidate of Technical Sciences, Docent Tazhenova G.D., Director of the Department of Airport Management Group LLP Kudabekov A.M.

Sailauova, Anarbayeva G.T., Bolat O.N. participated in the VII International Competition of Research Works by Young Scientists “Academic Research” with a scientific project on the topic: “Modern Banking Services in Kazakhstan.” The scientific project won 1st place, 24/25 points. A.S. Akhmetova participated in the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Youth and Science of the 21st Century: Realities and Prospects” at the Kazakh University of Economics, Finance and International Trade on the topic: “The Impact of Inflation on the Standard of Living of the Population,” where she took third place on April 11, 2025. Akhmetova Alina, Zhakupova Aruzhan, Dilnaz Amangeldy, students of the Finance educational program participated online in the III International Olympiad “Financial Security in the Paradigms of Modern Society Development,” organized by the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “Volgograd State Social and Pedagogical University” (Volgograd, Russia), where they were awarded first-degree diplomas. On May 25, 2025, student A. Tlekova of group KET-24-01 took part in an international project competition on the topic: “Formation of a new paradigm of the financial and economic system in the context of digitalization and global risks.” at Karaganda University KAZPOTREBSOYUZ, and was awarded a second-degree diploma (supervised by Docent Kozhakhmetova A.G. ).

On May 29, 2025, students of group KET-24-01 Tlekova A. and group F-24-01 Akhmetova A. participated in the International Competition of Scientific Works on Financial Technologies at Buketov Karaganda University , where she was awarded a 3rd degree diploma (supervisors: M.Sc. Docent Kozhakhmetova A.G., Docent Mazhitova B.B.).

On November 15, 2023, student Abdybekova G.B. participated in the 10th International Scientific and Practical Conference of Young Scientists and Students “Modern Paradigms of Accounting, Analysis, and Auditing Development,” dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the M. On March 31, 2023, G.B. Abdybekova, a student of the Finance program, participated in the international competition “Current Problems of the Russian Economy at the Present Stage of Development” for the best scientific work among students and pupils, section: Digital Transformations in the National Economy and Society at the Present Stage of Development. Lipetsk branch of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, Lipetsk. As a result of the competition, G.B. Abdybekova received a second-degree diploma, and her research supervisor, Master’s degree holder and senior lecturer Zh.D. Dauletkhanova, received a letter of appreciation.

On April 24-25, 2023, students of the Finance program, Smagul K. Zh. and Abdybekova G.B., participated in the international online competition “Economics and Finance of a Polycentric World.” Ural State University of Economics, Yekaterinburg, Russian Federation. Scientific supervisors: Candidate of Technical Sciences, Professor G.D. Tazhbenova and Master’s degree holder, Senior Lecturer Zh.D. Daulethanova.

On April 28, 2023, at the KazPotrebSoyuz University in Karaganda, the team “Zhas Karzhiger” consisting of: Құрмет Smagul, Gulim Abdybekova, and Gulnur Anarbayeva, took third place in the Republican Subject Olympiad in the educational program “Finance.” Scientific advisors: Candidate of Technical Sciences, Professor G.D. Tazhenova and Master’s Degree Holder, Senior Lecturer Zh.D. Daulethanova.

2021-2022

On November 11, 2022, fourth-year students of the Finance program, led by Associate Professor Mazhitova B.B. and Master’s degree holder, Senior Lecturer Kozhakhmetova A.G., participated in the Top Banks intellectual game (1st place), ESIL University.

On November 30, 2022, students of the Finance program took part in the international online competition “Modern Finance 3600,” dedicated to National Currency Day as part of the 30th anniversary of Turan University, Almaty. The “Digital Finance” team was awarded a diploma in the “Unique Project” category, which included 3rd- and 4th-year students: Smagul Kurmet, Abdybekova Gulim, and Malyutina Marina. The project leaders were master’s degree holders and senior lecturers: Z.D. Daulethanova and B.A. Baimamyr.

On December 1, 2022, Finance students Marina Malyutina, Adam Tokenov, Aida Kazieva, and Gulnur Anarbayeva participated in the intellectual game “I Am a Leader!” dedicated to the 150th anniversary of A. Baitursynov, held by L.N. Gumilyov ENU. Team leader Docent B.B. Mazhitova (Diploma II place).

On December 16, 2022, students K. Smagul, M. Malyutina, and G. Abdybekova participated in and won the International Online Olympiad “Financial Security in the Paradigms of Modern Society Development,” held at Volgograd State Social Pedagogical University, Volgograd, Russia (research supervisors: Z.D. Daulethanova, B.A. Baymamurov).
