Akhmetov Kadyr Abilzhanovich

Honored figure of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Kazakh Academy of Education

Akhmetov K.A. graduated from the Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov. He began his scientific and pedagogical activity in 1976 as a teacher, then – a senior teacher, an associate professor of the Tselinograd Civil Engineering Institute. From September 1991 to October 1996, he worked as an associate professor of the history department of the Almaty State University named after Abay. From 1996 to 1999 – Dean of the history department of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian University. From 1999 to 2002 – Senior Researcher. In 2003-2004, he served as the Acting Head of the Department at the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. Akhmetov K.A. is the author of 1 monograph, 5 teaching aids and more than 100 scientific publications.

Since 2004, he has been working at the A.K. Kussayinov Eurasian Humanities Institute as Vice-Rector for Research and Academic Affairs, and currently he is Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation. K. A. Akhmetov is responsible for coordinating and developing research and scientific-methodological activities at the Institute, supporting young scientists and student science, organizing scientific conferences and seminars, attracting funding, as well as establishing and strengthening international ties, including participation in academic exchange programs, international projects, and cooperation with foreign universities and scientific organizations.

For fruitful scientific and teaching activities, Akhmetov K.A. was awarded the badges of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Honored Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, “Y.Altynsarin”, “For Merits in the Development of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, jubilee medals “10 Years of Astana”, “20 Years of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, “30 Years of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, the Order named after A.Baitursynov (Association of Higher Education Institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan). Akhmetov K.A. is an Honorary Citizen of the Shal Akyn District of the North Kazakhstan Region.
