Science and Higher Education Forum “Human capital is a key resource for development of New Kazakhstan”
Today, the Science and Higher Education Forum “Human capital is a key resource for the development of New Kazakhstan” began its work, within the framework of which, in the format of the foresight session “Science and higher education in Kazakhstan: points of transformation”, current problems in the work of universities and research institutes, ways to overcome them and perspective directions of development of higher education and science. In his speech, the Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek outlined the problems and prospects for the development of science and higher education. The work of thematic groups was interesting and productive, which included the rectors of universities and directors of research institutes, the subject of discussion and creative ideas of which were the formation of a Central Asian educational hub, the commercialization and financing of science, the synchronization of higher education programs, grants and the structure of the regional and sectoral economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and others
My colleagues and I participated in the session “Corporate Governance in Universities and Research Institutes”, where we discussed the development of effective corporate governance. The foresight session program was interesting and eventful. A constructive exchange of views took place in an informal setting.
