The first blaze of the World Winter Universiade was lit on 25 January in Astana

On 25 January there was lit the first Torch of the 28-th World Winter Universiade -2017 in Astana. The students of the Eurasian Humanities Institute of the groups: ИЯК 16-01, ИЯК 16-02 took part at the relay race of the Universiade fire, which was divided into two stages. The first stage started from the Nazarbayev University to the monument of Baiterek, the second – from the monument Baiterek to the city Akimat on the right bank. The general distance of the relay race made up 12 kilometres. During 3.5 hours 60 people were running along the central capital streets. Among the torchbearers there were famous sportsmen and public figures of Astana. In a whole the torch of the Universiade will cover the distance of more than 22, 500 km, 200 km will be covered by the torchbearers. The EAGI students took part in this event with great pride, they were full of positive emotions and spirit of the Universiade.
