On April 14, 2026, a scientific forum titled “The People’s Constitution in the Context of the Historical Development of Kazakhstan’s Statehood” was held at the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event was organized by researchers of the Institute of State History.
The forum brought together representatives of the media, political scientists, legal experts, and historians. Among the speakers were Professor Zh.I. Ibragimov of the Eurasian National University and scholars from the Institute of State History.
During the seminar, it was noted that the new Constitution was adopted through a nationwide referendum and received broad public support. Its key priorities include education, science, culture, and innovation, emphasizing the importance of human capital in the country’s future development. In addition, for the first time, the Constitution enshrines the protection of citizens’ rights in the digital environment.
The presentations addressed issues such as the historical continuity of Kazakh statehood, strengthening the balance between branches of power, enhancing the role of Parliament, and increasing government accountability.
The forum concluded that the new Constitution is an important document aimed at improving the political system and fostering societal development.
