INCOMING INTERNAL ACADEMIC MOBILITY (WITHIN KAZAKHSTAN) AT EAGI

 

Incoming internal academic mobility at A.K. Kussayinov Eurasian Humanities Institute (EAGI) provides students from other higher education institutions in Kazakhstan with an opportunity to study at EAGI for one semester or one academic year, with subsequent transfer of the credits earned and grades received to their home university.

 

Participation Requirements for Students

During the academic mobility period, students are required to complete at least 50% of the total number of credits provided for the respective study period at EAGI.

 

Main conditions:

  • duration of study — 1 semester or 1 academic year;
  • studies are undertaken within a similar or relevant educational program;
  • completed courses and grades received are subject to credit and grade transfer at the home university;
  • tuition is provided free of charge on the basis of an agreement between the sending and receiving universities;
  • accommodation in the EAGI dormitory is not provided;
  • first-year students in their first semester and fourth-year students in their final semester are not eligible to participate in the program.

 

INCOMING INTERNAL ACADEMIC MOBILITY FOR UNIVERSITY TEACHING STAFF

 

Within the framework of incoming internal academic mobility, teaching staff from other higher education institutions in Kazakhstan may participate as guest lecturers.

 

Teaching staff are offered the opportunity to deliver guest lectures and classes within EAGI educational programs. The subjects, topics and content of guest classes are agreed upon in advance by the relevant departments of the sending and receiving universities.

 

Guest lectures and classes are aimed at exchanging professional experience, developing inter-university cooperation and expanding academic interaction.

 

The duration of participation in the program for teaching staff may range from 2 weeks to 1 semester.

INCOMING EXTERNAL ACADEMIC MOBILITY FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AT EAGI

 

Incoming external academic mobility at A.K. Kussayinov Eurasian Humanities Institute (EAGI) provides students from foreign higher education institutions with an opportunity to study at EAGI for one semester or one academic year, with credits awarded upon completion and the completed courses and grades subsequently transferred to the student’s home university.

 

Participation Requirements for Students

During the academic mobility period, students are required to complete at least 50% of the total number of credits provided for the respective study period at EAGI.

 

Main conditions:

  • duration of study — 1 semester or 1 academic year;
  • studies are undertaken within a similar or relevant educational program;
  • completed courses and grades received are subject to credit and grade transfer at the home university;
  • tuition for a similar educational program is provided free of charge on the basis of an agreement between the sending and receiving universities;
  • accommodation in the EAGI dormitory is provided in accordance with the agreement between the parties, either free of charge or on a paid basis;
  • the cost of paid accommodation in the dormitory is KZT 35,000 per month;
  • first-year students in their first semester and fourth-year students in their final semester are not eligible to participate in the program.

 

The financial terms of participation are determined by mutual agreement between the parties and may include funding for expenses related to students’ academic mobility in accordance with the terms of the relevant agreement.

 

INCOMING EXTERNAL ACADEMIC MOBILITY FOR UNIVERSITY TEACHING STAFF

 

Within the framework of incoming external academic mobility, A.K. Kussayinov Eurasian Humanities Institute (EAGI) invites teaching staff and academic personnel from foreign higher education institutions to participate in the Institute’s educational, research and academic activities.

 

Academic mobility for teaching staff may be carried out in both in-person (offline) and remote (online) formats. The content, duration, format of participation and funding arrangements are determined and agreed upon by the parties in accordance with the relevant agreements and the individual academic mobility program.

 

Main Forms of Participation

Within the program, teaching staff may:

  • deliver guest lectures and practical classes within EAGI educational programs;
  • teach individual courses or individual subjects;
  • conduct seminars, master classes and practice-oriented sessions;
  • participate in academic conferences, round tables, forums and other academic events;
  • organize joint research and educational activities;
  • exchange teaching and research experience with EAGI academic staff;
  • participate in the development of joint educational and research projects.

 

The subjects, content, teaching workload and duration of participation are agreed upon in advance by the relevant departments and units of EAGI and the partner foreign university.

 

Duration and Funding

The duration of academic mobility for teaching staff may range from 2 weeks to 1 semester.

 

The financial terms of participation are determined by mutual agreement between the parties and may include funding for expenses related to academic mobility in accordance with the relevant agreement and the approved program of stay.

 

Depending on the arrangements between the parties, participation may be organized on the basis of reciprocal faculty exchange, funded by the receiving or sending institution, or under other mutually agreed conditions.

 

COOPERATION OPPORTUNITIES WITHIN A NETWORK UNIVERSITY

 

EAGI also offers foreign universities the opportunity to develop cooperation in the format of a network university.

 

Within this format, two or more universities may provide reciprocal teaching of 1–2 courses in English in accordance with the established credit workload of their educational programs.

 

Teaching may be conducted in online or offline format and on a non-remunerated basis as part of reciprocal academic exchange. In the case of online teaching, funding, technical support and other organizational arrangements are determined by mutual agreement between the parties.

 

This cooperation format makes it possible to:

 

  • ensure reciprocal participation of teaching staff from two or more universities in the educational process;
  • expand students’ access to courses delivered by international faculty members;
  • introduce English-taught courses and international educational practices;
  • develop joint educational programs and academic modules;
  • strengthen international partnerships between universities;
  • expand academic mobility without the need for long-term physical relocation of teaching staff and students.
