WHAT IS ACADEMIC MOBILITY?

Academic mobility gives EAGI students, faculty members and staff the opportunity to gain academic and professional experience at partner universities and institutions outside EAGI. Depending on the program, participants may study, teach, undertake professional training, or conduct research at another institution in Kazakhstan or abroad.

For students, mobility may last from a short-term period to one semester or one academic year. Courses completed during the mobility period can be recognized by EAGI and transferred to the student’s academic record in accordance with the approved study plan and applicable agreements.

Outbound Academic Mobility May Include:

  • Bilateral student exchange — studying at a partner university under an agreement between institutions;
  • International mobility programs — including Erasmus+, Mevlana, Orhun and other exchange opportunities;
  • Short-term academic programs — participation in summer schools, winter schools and other intensive educational programs;
  • Professional internships and traineeships — practical training at organizations or institutions in Kazakhstan or abroad;
  • Research mobility — short-term research visits and academic stays at partner universities or research centers;
  • Teaching mobility for faculty — delivering lectures, seminars or courses at partner institutions, including international teaching weeks;
  • Joint and dual degree opportunities — completing part of an academic program at a partner university when provided by the relevant educational arrangement.
