MEETING WITH YOUNG RESEARCHERS ON PARTICIPATION IN STATE-FUNDED RESEARCH GRANT COMPETITIONS AND THE “ZHAS GALYM” PROGRAM FOR 2027–2029

To promote research activities, encourage greater involvement in research projects, and expand the participation of young researchers in government-funded science support programs, the Institute held an informational and consultative meeting dedicated to the preparation and submission of applications for research grant competitions for young researchers for 2027–2029, as well as participation in the “Zhas Galym” (Young Scientist) program.

The meeting was conducted by Zhanibek Zhartay, Head of the Department of Projects, Commercialization and Innovation at the Institute, PhD, Associate Professor.

During the meeting, the following key topics were discussed:

  • Priority research areas and opportunities for participation in research grant funding competitions for 2027–2029;
  • Key features of the “Zhas Galym” program and opportunities for government support available to young researchers;
  • Eligibility requirements for prospective research supervisors and research teams;
  • A step-by-step approach to developing a research idea and justifying its relevance, scientific novelty, and practical significance;
  • Building research teams, planning project budgets, and defining expected outcomes;
  • Preparing application documents, submission procedures, and the main criteria for scientific evaluation;
  • Commercialization of research results, interdisciplinary collaboration, and cooperation with industry partners.

The meeting also addressed opportunities for individual guidance and support for young researchers throughout all stages of the grant application process — from developing research ideas and preparing proposals to undergoing scientific evaluation and subsequently implementing projects if funding is awarded.
