Incoming International Internships
INCOMING INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH INTERNSHIP
A.K. Kussayinov Eurasian Humanities Institute (EAGI) invites foreign researchers, faculty members, and young scholars to undertake a research internship at our institute. The internship offers an opportunity to join the institute’s research and academic environment, collaborate with faculty, make use of the research infrastructure of our centers and laboratories, and carry out fieldwork and methodological work at partner schools and preschool institutions.

Fields of training in which the institute conducts academic and research work: preschool education, primary education, inclusive education, special education, pedagogy and psychology, psychology, history teacher training, law, finance, translation and linguistics, foreign language teacher training, and Kazakh language and literature teacher training.
Academic publications
The institute’s faculty actively publish in Scopus, Web of Science, KOKSON (Committee for Quality Assurance in Education and Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan), and other peer-reviewed journals. EAGI publishes:
- “EAGI Bulletin” journal, included in the KOKSON list
- Two international academic journals in English
The institute annually hosts international scientific-practical conferences and the A.K. Kussayinov Readings — a conference bringing together researchers in the institute’s fields of study.
Practical base
To support methodological and applied work by interns, the institute provides access to a network of partner schools and preschool institutions, where research and pedagogical methods can be tested in a real educational setting.
Internship terms
- The internship is free of charge — the institute does not charge any participation fees.
- Accommodation and travel costs are covered by the sending institution or agreed upon between the parties.
- Visa support is arranged depending on the requirements of the country of residence.
Requirements for participation in an incoming research internship
- Official request letter. Submitted on behalf of the head of the relevant department of the sending institution (typically the head of the research office or the office of international cooperation), the vice-rector for research, or the rector. The letter must specify:
- full name of the researcher, position, and academic credentials;
- the host department or center;
- the purpose or topic of research;
- the period of stay;
- passport details.
- Supporting documents to be attached to the letter:
- internship program;
- researcher’s CV.
- Preliminary coordination.Before submitting documents, it is recommended to contact the host party (department or center) in advance to discuss the details of the visit.
- Confirmation letter.After reviewing the application, the institute sends an official approval letter, on the basis of which the intern prepares for arrival.
