On March 21, 2026, the International Youth Olympiad on the Literature of the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and the United States was held at the N. A. Dobrolyubov Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University. The project was organized and conducted by the Department of Romance and Germanic Languages, Translation, Foreign Literature, and Intercultural Communication at the Higher School of Translation of NGLU.
The main goal of the Olympiad was to foster scientifically grounded understanding of the national literature and culture of the countries whose languages are studied, to engage emerging professionals in addressing pressing issues of development, and to explore innovative models for improving the quality and openness of the humanities education system.
Over 200 university students from various cities in the Russian Federation (Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Saransk, Barnaul, Novosibirsk, Perm, Vologda, Yoshkar-Ola, Kazan, Saratov, Lugansk), as well as from the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Kazakhstan, participated in the competition.
Based on the results of the international youth competition (section “Literature of Great Britain and the USA”), Daulet Aym, a student in academic group IYA-23-01, took 2nd place.
