EAGI hosted an official visit by representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in the Republic of Kazakhstan and a delegation from Alma Ata University. The highlight of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the A.K. Kussayinov Eurasian Humanities Institute and Alma Ata University.
The guests of honor at the event were Dr. Mohammad Fajroel Rahman, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Tajikistan; representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia; and a delegation from Alma Ata University led by its rector, Professor Dr. Hamam Hadi.
The Rector of the EAGI, Professor Nurbanu Tokenovna Nygymanova, delivered a welcoming address. She noted the importance of developing educational and scientific cooperation between Kazakhstan and Indonesia, and emphasized the institute’s readiness to implement joint initiatives with Alma Ata University.
During the meeting, the parties discussed promising areas of cooperation, including academic mobility for students and faculty, conducting joint scientific research, organizing international events, exchanging expertise, and developing educational projects.
The delegation from Alma Ata University presented the university’s activities and expressed interest in strengthening partnership ties with EAGI.
The highlight of the visit was the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding. The document lays the groundwork for further cooperation between the two universities and the implementation of joint academic and research initiatives.
Commemorative gifts were exchanged during the event. A special gift was presented to the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia—a decorative, hand-painted plate created by Kazakhstani artists Galia and Balkhiya Kussayinov, known as the creative duo GaBo.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the distinguished guests signed the Guest Book of the EAGI. A photo session and interviews with delegation members also took place.
The official visit and the signing of the Memorandum marked an important step in the development of the partnership between EAGI and Alma Ata University, as well as in strengthening educational ties between Kazakhstan and Indonesia.
