2On June 26, 2026, the Library of A.K. Kussayinov Eurasian Humanities Institute hosted the scholarly round table “Commitment to the Ideals of Alash”, featuring the distinguished scholar, Alash studies expert, literary critic, Doctor of Philological Sciences, and Professor Dikhan Kamzabekuly.
The event aimed to discuss the scholar’s academic legacy, his contribution to the development of Kazakh literary studies, Alash studies, journalism studies, and the national spiritual heritage, as well as to highlight the significance of his research for contemporary humanities.
The round table was moderated by Professor Kadyr Abilzhanovich Akhmetov, Doctor of Historical Sciences. In his opening remarks, he emphasized Professor Dikhan Kamzabekuly’s outstanding contribution to the advancement of national scholarship, the establishment of a distinguished academic school, and the training of young researchers.
Welcoming remarks were delivered by Professor Nurbanu Tokenovna Nygymanova, Rector of the Institute and Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, and Professor Samat Amangeldiyevich Eskaliyev, Vice-Rector for Research and International Cooperation and Candidate of Historical Sciences. They congratulated the distinguished scholar and highlighted his many years of dedicated service to the development of science and higher education in Kazakhstan.
The academic session featured presentations devoted to various aspects of Professor Dikhan Kamzabekuly’s scholarly and creative work.
Laura Nogaibekovna Daurenbekova, Candidate of Philological Sciences and Professor of the Department of Kazakh Language and Literature, delivered a presentation entitled “The National Perspective in Dikhan Kamzabekuly’s Journalism”, examining the relationship between the national idea and public thought reflected in his journalistic writings.
Nurgul Khamzakhanovna Shadiyeva, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences and Associate Professor, presented the paper “National Education and Language Upbringing in the Works of Dikhan Kamzabekuly”, focusing on the contemporary relevance of the scholar’s views on education and language policy.
Moldir Amangazykyzy, PhD and Associate Professor, delivered the presentation “Dikhan Kamzabekuly and the Decolonization of Kazakhstan’s Spiritual Space”, addressing issues of national identity formation, historical memory, and decolonial thinking within the context of the scholar’s academic legacy.
Kuralai Shaimardanovna Aubakirova, Candidate of Historical Sciences and Associate Professor, presented the paper “Dikhan Kamzabekuly’s Contribution to the Development of Alash Studies”, offering a comprehensive overview of his research on the history of the Alash movement and the intellectual and political heritage of its leaders.
In his closing remarks, Professor Dikhan Kamzabekuly expressed his sincere gratitude to the Institute’s leadership and all participants for their attention to his scholarly work. He shared his reflections on the future development of the humanities in Kazakhstan, contemporary approaches to studying the Alash legacy, and the importance of supporting young researchers.
The event concluded with an open discussion and question-and-answer session, during which participants exchanged views on future directions for research into the scholar’s academic legacy.
The round table “Commitment to the Ideals of Alash” became an important academic platform that promoted Professor Dikhan Kamzabekuly’s scholarly legacy, encouraged further research in Alash studies, and strengthened young scholars’ interest in Kazakhstan’s national spiritual and cultural heritage.
