EAGI hosted a series of large-scale cultural and educational events in honor of National Book Day and Librarians’ Day. These were organized as part of the national campaign “One Country—One Book,” which in 2026 focused on the historical novel “Tagdyr” by Kabdesh Zhumadilov.
The faculty, staff, and students of the institute received the work with great interest and actively participated in the reading process. The results of a survey conducted in March–April demonstrated a high level of engagement: 79 readers had fully read the novel and provided substantive answers to the questions posed. This indicates a growing number of thoughtful and interested readers who view books as a source of knowledge and spiritual development.
A logical continuation of the campaign was the literary-musical analytical evening “Herald of History and Destiny—Kabdesh Zhumadilov,” held on April 22. During the event, Vice Rector for Science and International Cooperation S.A. Eskaliyev delivered a congratulatory speech and presented awards to the winners in the categories “Best Reader of the Year,” “Library Patron,” and “Best User of Electronic Resources.”
As part of the evening, a book fair was held in the institute’s lobby, featuring contemporary fiction and world-renowned classics. Publications on the digital age, artificial intelligence, and IT technologies drew particular interest from attendees.
At the conclusion of the event, active students were awarded certificates from the “Meloman” and “Marwin” bookstores, commemorative gifts, and letters of appreciation on behalf of the institute’s rector.
During the evening, Library Director G.K. Abdigazieva, as well as moderators R.M. Shakimova, L.D. Ilyasova, E.D. Bekbulatova, and A.S. Ospanova, expressed their gratitude to the library staff, noting their high level of professionalism and significant contribution to the development of reading culture.
In addition, the results of the “Donate a Book to the Library” campaign will be announced at the next student council meeting, where an award ceremony for the most active participants will take place.
These events have made a significant contribution to the promotion of books, the development of a reading culture, and the enhancement of the spiritual and intellectual level of young people.
