EAGI Welcomes a Delegation from Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo: A New Stage in International Academic Cooperation

On 7 September 2026, the administration of the A.K. Kussayinov Eurasian Humanities Institute met with a delegation from Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo (UMSIDA, Indonesia). The visit is being held as part of an academic mobility programme based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two educational institutions.

The delegation included Wahyu Taufiq, a lecturer at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo and holder of a Master of Education (M.Ed) degree, as well as second-year students of the English Language Teaching programme, Fauzia Afifa Siswanto and Salsa Billanazin Zahir.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further cooperation, the development of academic mobility, the expansion of joint educational initiatives, and new opportunities for interaction between lecturers and students. As part of the Institute’s traditional hospitality, the international guests were presented with commemorative souvenirs and invited to leave their messages in the EAGI Book of Wishes.

The programme continued with a guest lecture by Wahyu Taufiq entitled “Meaningful Communication Through Emotion and Context” for students of the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation Studies at EAGI.

The participants discussed contemporary approaches to foreign language learning, the importance of emotions and context in effective communication, and the potential use of artificial intelligence in education. EAGI students had an opportunity to learn about international practices in English language teaching and ask questions of the visiting expert.

The delegation’s visit is ongoing. The upcoming programme includes a round-table discussion entitled “Beyond Grammar: Fostering Authentic Communication Through Emotion, Context, and AI” for the academic staff of the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation Studies.

EAGI’s international cooperation continues to create new opportunities for academic exchange, professional development, and stronger educational ties between Kazakhstan and Indonesia.
