Curator Arailym Sakenkyzy conducted a curatorial hour for students of groups Қ-26-01 and Ф-26-01 on the topic “The Constitution Begins with Me.”
During the event, the students learned about the main innovations introduced in the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which was adopted in a nationwide referendum on March 15, 2026, and came into force on July 1, 2026. The key changes discussed included the transition to a unicameral Kurultai, the establishment of the Kazakhstan People’s Council (Қазақстан Халық Кеңесі), and constitutional guarantees for the protection of personal data in the digital environment.
Special attention was given to the fundamental principle of the Constitution: the individual, their life, rights, and freedoms are the highest values of the state.
During the meeting, the students discussed the rights and responsibilities of citizens, worked in teams to solve practical, real-life situations, and participated in a quick-fire quiz.
At the end of the event, each student completed the sentence, “The Constitution begins with me because I…”, expressing their understanding of civic responsibility and their personal contribution to upholding constitutional values.
